I know for Board Certifications you keep the original awarded date and there is a field to enter the re-certification date. I wasn’t sure if it was the same for Licenses/Certs. The Licenses/Certs category shows the certification and expiration date so it may look off if the time between the original and expiration date has a large gap.

The awarded date should be the original date and not the re-certification date. Yes, once a physician has been licensed for a while that gap between awarded date and expiration date will get larger, but it will also reflect the entire duration they have been in practice. If there is ever a lapse in coverage then there should be a separate entry where the license should be entered with the new awarded date.
