Answer for What’s the difference between FAR and Profile?

While the Activity Report and Profile share a common database they both serve a separate purpose.
The Faculty Activity Report (FAR) is an online faculty activity data collection and reporting application for use by University of Utah faculty members, chairs, and deans. To ensure the FAR reflects each college’s practices and standards, college leaders choose particular sections and data types to include in their college’s FAR.
The Faculty Profile is a website editing application that enables University of Utah faculty members to update their individual U of U websites, which are linked from several campus websites including the public Find a Researcher site, the Class Schedule- opens new window, and students’ My Classes- opens new window feature in CIS. In addition, some departments and colleges will soon be linking to these sites to provide up-to-date faculty information to the public.
